Brigitte Francois Director at Sign Language Interpreting Direct Ltd
Darren is an excellent interpreter! Respectful, good listener and great at conveying the most complex ideas simply and clearly. He connects well with people and has the strength to manage the most difficult situations. He is also a supportive co-worker. A fantastic role model of an interpreter, challenging the status quo and thought provoking but humble and so much fun to work with! |

Fees and terms for interpreting:
Indicative interpreting fee: £140 for a half day and £280 for a full day, both inclusive of travel in London. For all other services, fees available on request.
NB the fee will vary according to the assignment start & finish times, location, nature of booking, preparation and travel required, and whether AV broadcast.
Please note my terms:
1. Cancellations: Less than 7 calendar days, 100% fee, 8 to 14 calendar days, 50% fee.
2. Preparation materials (agendas, previous minutes, speeches, etc as relevant) to be made available in sufficient time to allow for preparation for the assignment.
3. No AV recording of the interpreter or interpretation without specific written agreement.
4. Payment to be made within 28 days of invoicing.
5. Late payments will incur administration and interests charges, which will be the greater of £40 (in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Interest Act 1998, as amended (to incorporate the European Directive 2000/35/EC) by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Regulations 2002), or 15% of the total.
6. If booked for an event requiring more than one interpreter, unless specifically agreed, the booking is accepted on the basis that there will be sufficient interpreters for the event. Co-interpreters working with me at the event are to be registered, and of appropriate skills and experience for the event. Where this is not possible, or you are not sure what is required, please contact me to discuss. Where this hasn't been adhered to, and in my professional judgment interpreting provision is not viable for the event, I reserve the right to withdraw my services, up to and including the event itself.
